The use of quartz material and its application in industry

Due to the relatively expensive nature of quartz glass tubes, the following 5 points should be noted when using them:

1. All kinds of quartz glass have a maximum operating temperature, which should not be exceeded during use, otherwise crystallization or softening deformation may occur.

2. Quartz glass is an acidic material. When used at high temperatures, it should be strictly avoided to come into contact with alkaline substances such as water glass, asbestos, potassium sodium compounds, etc. Otherwise, its anti crystallization performance will be greatly reduced.

3. Continuous use of quartz glass products at high temperatures is beneficial for extending the lifespan of quartz glass and improving its temperature resistance. On the contrary, if quartz glass products are used intermittently at high temperatures, their frequency of use is limited.

4. Quartz glass material has extremely high thermal stability and can withstand drastic temperature changes. However, in actual use, due to differences in residual strain and product shape, there are certain differences in thermal stability, which should be taken into account during use.

5. Quartz glass that requires high temperature use must be wiped clean before use. It can be soaked in 10% hydrofluoric acid or washing solution, and then cleaned with high-purity water or treated with alcohol. Wear fine wire gloves during operation and do not touch quartz glass directly with your hands.

So what are the applications of quartz instruments in industry?

In the field of chemical engineering, it can be used as a combustion, cooling, and ventilation device for high-temperature acid resistant gases, an evaporation device for acidic solutions, a cooling absorption and storage device, a preparation device for distilled water, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfuric acid, and other physical and chemical experimental supplies.

The applications of quartz glass in high-temperature operations include optical glass, crucibles, electric furnace core tubes, gas combustion radiators, etc.

In terms of optics, quartz glass and quartz glass wool can be used as rocket nozzles, spacecraft heat shields, and observation windows.

In short, with the development of modern science and technology, quartz glass has been widely used in various fields.

In summary, due to its unique physical and chemical properties, quartz glass has been used in various fields such as optics, electric heating, and chemical industry, demonstrating its broad application prospects.
