Principles and Practical Advantages of Infrared Lamp Tubes in Sterilization Cabinets

Infrared lamps are the core heating and sterilizing components of household sterilizers. Relying on specialized mid-to-far infrared thermal radiation technology, they achieve contactless drying and sterilization without chemical residues, serving as a key feature for ensuring daily hygiene and safety of tableware, baby products, and more. Thanks to their safety, efficiency, and durability, infrared lamps have become the mainstream core component in enclosed sterilizers.

From a working principle perspective, infrared radiation lies between visible light and microwaves on the electromagnetic spectrum. The 2.5–15 μm mid-to-far infrared range is particularly suitable for sterilization applications, as it can be efficiently absorbed by key molecular structures such as proteins and nucleic acids within microorganisms. This specific wavelength causes intense molecular vibration and rapid temperature rise, irreversibly damaging the active structures of microbes and effectively inactivating harmful bacteria and viruses, achieving deep-level sterilization. Unlike ozone or chemical disinfection methods, infrared thermal sterilization requires no chemical agents, produces no odor or residue, and offers a clean, safe, purely physical approach ideal for long-term home use.

The infrared quartz lamp tubes used in household sterilizing cabinets are a high-quality configuration ideal for home disinfection, offering numerous practical advantages. Made of highly transparent quartz material, they feature excellent light transmittance and rapid heating, enabling cold-start operation with almost no preheating delay. The unit instantly delivers stable heat output upon startup, significantly shortening the drying and sterilization cycle. Additionally, the infrared thermal radiation is exceptionally uniform, evenly distributing heat throughout the cabinet interior without local temperature variations or dead zones. This effectively evaporates residual moisture from fine crevices such as bowl edges and spoon handles, ensuring thorough drying across all surfaces while maintaining consistent sterilization temperatures to guarantee complete disinfection every time. After sterilization, utensils remain at a comfortably warm temperature—never hot enough to cause burns—and emerge dry and glossy, effectively preventing secondary bacterial growth caused by dampness and condensation inside the cabinet.

As a consumable component used frequently over long periods, infrared lamps degrade with time. As they age, the lamps become dimmer, produce insufficient residual heat, and experience a significant drop in thermal efficiency. This directly results in slower drying speeds, moisture residue on tableware, incomplete disinfection, and loss of the original sterilization and drying performance. Replacing them with new dual-power (300W/400W) infrared lamps fully restores the core functionality of the sterilizer. The new lamps start up quickly, delivering ample heat output immediately upon power-on, rapidly generating uniform warm light and heat inside the cabinet. A complete cycle of efficient drying and deep sterilization can be achieved in just 15 minutes. The stable infrared radiation effectively eliminates microorganisms on the surfaces and crevices of heat-resistant household items such as tableware, baby bottles, and toothbrushes, while swiftly removing moisture to prevent bacterial growth caused by dampness. With a gentle yet highly effective physical approach, it strengthens the safety barrier for daily home hygiene.
